What do we know about Marie White, Glastonbury Emerging Talent winner?

Glastonbury’s emerging talent competition is well known for its chance for entry level artists to gain great recognition for their music.

The artist not only wins a chance to perform on one of the big stages at Glastonbury 2019 but will be awarded a £5000 talent development prize from PRS foundation. Something so valuable for those artists beginning their career.

Last night the 9 acts who had been narrowed down by redeemed music blogs took to Pilton to put on a winning performance.

The winner was chosen by Micheal and Emily Eavis plus a Glastonbury team.

Marie White was deservingly handed first place by Micheal Eavis himself.

So, what do we know about Marie White?

The Singer-songwriter is the female Ed Sheeran. She is known for her powerful ballads and her use of instruments such as guitar and piano which features heavily in her music.

‘I Want To Know You’ is the ultimate tune you should listen to. It’ll help you get to know her and her music much better.

The 22 year old from Hastings is an unsigned artist, pursuing her own sound and turning down record labels to do so.

Lately the singer has been working with Quiet Money Recordings, a Sussex Record Label.

She has played intimate gigs for a few years now such as coffee house sessions. In the past year she has performed at a few festivals such as Warwick festival Opener, which will put her in a great position when she takes a step up to perform at Glastonbury.

Beyond her music Marie is passionate about inspiring the next generation of Talents in local areas including visiting schools and working with young musicians.

We are yet to find out when are where Marie will be performing at this year’s Glastonbury but we will definitely be there.

Congratulations Marie White, we know you have a bright future!
