Radio 1’s Big Weekend!

Radio 1’s Big Weekend has added even more huge names to its list. The Middlesbrough festival is set to take place on May 25th and 26th at Stewart park and has already got people buzzing.
The lineup has seen huge names added including Glastonbury headliner and singer of ‘Shut up’ Stormzy. Pop singer Rita Ora, Jess Glynn and riding band Sigrid have all been announced. James Arthur is also set to play what is considering to be a homecoming gig, in which he claims he’s very excited to play. T In The Park headliners Catfish and the Bottlemen also feature on the list and are set to play on the Sunday.
Other big stars set to play are US singer Miley Cyrus, 17 year old Billie Ellish, Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend and ‘Young dumb n broke’ Khalid. All these big names will be playing Saturday.
Sunday is just as big. Brit Winners The 1975 alongside girl power group Little Mix are hitting the stage. Other names include Two Door Cinema Club who were announced today, and Mabel, Jax Jones. Check out the full line up below.
How to buy a ticket for the event was unknown until today where they revealed the process for buying tickets.
Ticket sale will be on Thursday 14th of March at 5pm and tickets are priced at a reasonable £18 for a day. 32,000 tickets will be available for each day of the festival.
The sale of tickets is divided into 3 different pots:
* Pot 1: 50% is reserved for those living in the area. Any unsold tickets will be for general sale.
* Pot 2: 35% of tickets will be given to the wider area of Middlesbrough
* Pot 3: 15% for general public
