Glastonbury to increase capacity.

Glastonbury, the biggest non-annual greenfield festival has been allowed to increased its capacity even more so. The festival does not run every year, as seen in 2018 has a fallow year so as to allow the large field to recover from years prior.

However, Glastonbury has been allowed to increase its capacity to a large sum of 210,000. This sees an increase of 7,000 more people, so the odds for getting tickets slightly increase!

This follows the green light given by the Mendip District Coucil (MDC) on the additional tickets.

However, it was noted that alongside this increase of tickets there should be an increase of public transport. This is so as to accommodate more people entering the festival the weekend in June and to stop the price of tickets increasing. Currently Glastonbury offer a number of transport options into the festival including train, coach and green coach partnership tickets alongside parking tickets for those wishing to make their own commute. Ticket prices for Glastonbury are currently £248.

This increase is not for 2019, which tickets went on sale in October. Resale is set to take place in April and shortly after a lineup should follow.

Currently the festival has announced Stormzy, Kylie Minogue and Janelle Monae.

Rumours for those who may feature on the lineup are circulating and include The Killers, The Cure, Liam Gallagher, Paul McCartney and much more.
