The Glastonbury 2019 first poster has been released and were more excited than ever. June could not come sooner!
We already knew our Friday night Headliner was Grime artistStormzy. Stormzy played the other stage in 2017 but has fully upgraded to the pyramid stage slot for this upcoming year.
Following months of speculations our Saturday and Sunday headliners have been announced. On Saturday night, American Mr Brightside singers will be taking to the stage. The Killers played a secret set in 2017 and headlined Isle of Wight in 2018. With their new song ‘Land Of The Free’ released, we cant wait to see what they have in store for us.
Our Sunday night headliner is English rock band The Cure. Robert Smith has played with his band at Glastonbury a number of times over a number or years. They headlined 1986, 1990 and 1995. This will their first time playing in over 20 years.
The rest of the acts featured on the poster according to Glastonbury’s official website will be playing across The Pyramid, Other, West Holts, John Peel and Park Stages.
We are unsure what stages and when for the moment but this will be announced closer to the festival.
We are also expecting many more acts to follow who will be playing on the main stage.
The poster sees a huge number of female artists and bands which we love! 48% of the poster includes female artists, despite all male headliners.
We already knew superstar Kylie Minogue was taking the Sunday afternoon legend slot but more big female names have been added.
American pop singer Janet Jackson will likely be playing the Pyramid Stage and we cannot wait.
Singer, song-writing and actress Miley Cyrus makes her first Glastonbury performance for 2019. The American wrote on Twitter it’s “Gonna be a fucking sikkkkkk time” and we share her excitement.
17-year old indie-pop star Billie Ellish is starting her career off with a bang, earning herself a slot.
Christine and the Queens, Brit winner Jorja Smith, Anne-Marie and Lizza all feature on the poster.
We expect a number of big female artists to join the lineup. Check out the full lineup below.
Big bands and male artists make up the rest of the line up.
Best British new comer winner Sam Fender makes his debut at Glasto. We expect new music from him by June.
Isle of Wight, Boardmaster and Latitude headliner George Ezra is back at Glastonbury this year. He played The Other Stage in 2017, and likely will see him on The Pyramid this year following his successful year.
Australian music, Tame Impala is high on the poster. He is a welcomed suprise.
Indie Bands Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club and Snow Patrol also feature on the poster.
We cannot wait now for June and the rest of the lineup which we expect to be on average a month prior to kick off. 2017 was 30th of May.
Full deposit is to paid on the 1st of April and you have 7 days.
